Our St. Louis, Missouri distribution center is seeking an organized and reliable Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of goods. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that all orders are accurately prepared, packed, and dispatched to customers. You will be responsible for maintaining documentation, coordinating with shipping carriers, and ensuring the integrity of shipments. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety are essential. Responsibilities:
- Process and document all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify order details against physical inventory and shipping manifests.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure products are safely packed.
- Operate shipping software, label printers, and other related equipment.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers and maintain communication.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping station and manage supplies.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with receiving and inventory tasks as needed.
- Identify and report any shipping errors or discrepancies to management.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by following best practices in manual handling and logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be reliable and able to work effectively in a team.
