This role is critical for managing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining proper documentation. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping labels, and verifying shipment contents against orders. This is a dynamic position within our logistics department, offering a chance to be part of a busy and essential operation. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Generate and apply shipping labels and manifests.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS).
- Verify shipment contents against sales orders and packing lists.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and logistics requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety protocols and using required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of shipping logistics and best practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
