We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials, load and unload trailers, and transport goods within the warehouse. Safety is our top priority, and this role demands a strong adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and possesses excellent attention to detail to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role involves frequent Lifting and requires the ability to maneuver in tight spaces. Your contribution will be essential to the smooth functioning of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials and finished goods from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange materials in a safe and orderly manner.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and order picking as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from obstructions.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Be prepared for tasks involving significant Lifting and moving of heavy items.
- Contribute to effective logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring significant physical exertion, including consistent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control is advantageous.
