Join our Des Moines, Iowa logistics team as a Material Handler. This role is crucial for managing the flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring efficient operations and timely processing of inventory. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment or storage. This includes loading and unloading, stacking, and using various material handling equipment. Safety is our highest priority, and all employees must strictly follow safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and operate equipment responsibly. This position requires physical capability, including the ability to perform significant lifting, typically up to 70 pounds, and maneuvering materials throughout the warehouse. Responsibilities:
- Transport materials within the warehouse using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Organize and arrange inventory in designated locations.
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory control procedures.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and policies.
- Wear all required PPE diligently.
- Support the shipping and receiving departments as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of logistics operations.
