Job Summary:
Our Milwaukee distribution center is seeking a proficient Reach Truck Operator to enhance our logistics team. This specialized role requires an experienced operator to efficiently handle and store materials at height. You will be responsible for operating a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve inventory, ensuring accuracy and safety in all movements. Your expertise is vital for maintaining optimal warehouse capacity and workflow.
Responsibilities:
  • Safely and efficiently operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve palletized goods.
  • Place and remove inventory from racking systems at various heights.
  • Perform daily inspections of the reach truck and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all warehouse safety procedures and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counting and location verification.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear aisles and access to racking.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations and efficient logistics.
  • Follow all safety guidelines for working at heights and operating heavy machinery.
  • May involve some occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs for placement or retrieval verification.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating a reach truck in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
  • Valid reach truck certification or license.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse racking systems and inventory storage principles.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Commitment to safety, with knowledge of safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Must consistently wear and use required PPE.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic in a logistics environment.
