Join our dynamic logistics team as a Forklift Operator in the heart of New York City! We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials around our facility. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient warehouse operations and ensuring the timely flow of goods. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, stocking and retrieving inventory, and performing routine checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach) to move, load, and unload materials.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment within the warehouse.
- Inspect forklifts before and after each shift, reporting any issues or malfunctions to maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and efficient logistics.
- Be prepared for lifting requirements, as some items may need to be moved manually.
- Previous experience operating forklifts is required.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment is a plus.
