We are hiring a diligent Shipping Clerk for our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma facility to manage the outbound flow of goods. This role is critical to our logistics department, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages are ready for dispatch. A strong understanding of shipping procedures, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to shipping guidelines.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, manifests).
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Verify package contents and quantities against shipping orders before dispatch.
- Track shipments and provide status updates to relevant parties.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and filing systems.
- Operate shipping department equipment, such as scales and label printers, safely.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is preferred. Familiarity with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS) and their systems. Proficiency in using computer systems for order processing and tracking. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and shipments. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally. Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE is mandatory. A proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication skills are valued.
