We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of our warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials and products. Your role is critical in ensuring that our inventory is accurate and accessible, and that customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and correctly. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to maintain a high level of productivity and uphold our strict safety standards. This position requires physical stamina and a keen eye for detail. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to serve our customers and maintain our reputation in the logistics industry. Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transporting materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand.
- Storing materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Picking orders accurately based on customer requirements and preparing them for shipment.
- Packing items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Conducting regular inventory checks and reporting discrepancies.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operating warehouse equipment safely and proficiently, including pallet jacks and potentially forklifts after training and certification.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving documentation as needed.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety and material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs, repetitively throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to workplace Safety practices.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential overtime as needed.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic are essential.
