We are seeking a reliable and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, selecting appropriate packaging, verifying order details, and coordinating with carriers for timely pickups. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction. You will play a key part in our Logistics operations, directly impacting the timely delivery of goods. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to workplace Safety are necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, manifests, and other necessary documentation.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure orders are securely packed.
- Verify order details against shipping requirements before dispatch.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks, ensuring proper handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Follow all company Safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed to support overall Logistics .
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role is highly valued. Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including occasional Lifting of up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in computer systems for shipping software and data entry. A strong understanding of shipping regulations and best practices. Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all PPE requirements. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
