We are seeking a diligent and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic team in New York City, New York. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are moved, sorted, and stored efficiently and safely. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong work ethic. You will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately stocking inventory. Additionally, you will assist in preparing outgoing orders, ensuring all items are correctly picked, packed, and labeled for shipment. Attention to detail is paramount to minimize errors and maintain inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Perform inventory counts and assist with stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse safety protocols.
- Identify and report any damaged or defective materials.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Follow all instructions for proper storage and movement of goods within the warehouse.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures, particularly concerning PPE usage and general Safety guidelines.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of our Logistics operations.
Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred but not required. Must be able to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Basic understanding of warehouse operations. A commitment to workplace Safety and willingness to wear required PPE . Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
