We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in San Jose, California. This role is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and verifying package details. A strong focus on Safety and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are essential. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, manifests, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify package weights, dimensions, and contents against shipping orders.
- Ensure all shipments comply with carrier requirements and company policies.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments or customers.
- Maintain organized records of all outgoing shipments.
- Operate shipping software and equipment, such as scales and printers.
- Adhere strictly to all warehouse Safety protocols and procedures.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE, including safety vests and eye protection.
- Assist with loading and unloading of shipments as needed, ensuring safe handling.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is required. Must be proficient in using shipping software and documentation. Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting of packages. Excellent organizational and time management skills. A strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail is crucial. A steadfast commitment to workplace Safety is mandatory. Must be at least 18 years old. This role requires standing, walking, and computer proficiency for extended periods.
