Our growing logistics operation in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator. This position is vital for the efficient and safe handling of materials throughout our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Ensuring a safe working environment is paramount, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE, is expected. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a strong safety record, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts. You will play a key role in our supply chain, ensuring smooth operations from receiving to shipping. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure the proper use of PPE at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- Proficiency with various types of forklifts.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy items (up to 70 lbs).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Must be committed to wearing and using appropriate PPE.
