We have an excellent opportunity for a Shipping Clerk in our San Diego, California location! This role is pivotal in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. You will be responsible for preparing orders for shipment, managing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. This position requires a sharp eye for detail and strong organizational skills to support our complex logistics operations. Our company places a high priority on workplace safety , and all employees are required to adhere to established protocols and use the provided PPE . This role may involve some lifting and requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Verify order contents and prepare shipments accurately.
- Pack items securely and apply correct shipping labels and documentation.
- Arrange for freight and package carrier pickups.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping logs and records.
- Track shipments and resolve any transit issues.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external shipping partners.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Mandatory use of provided PPE for all tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS online systems).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving physical activity, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to adhering to PPE requirements.
- Solid understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- A strong focus on safety in all operations.
