We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics functions. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials and products within our facility. You will operate various types of equipment and ensure that inventory is organized and accessible. A strong commitment to safety is required, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to proper Lifting techniques. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations.
- Organize and stack inventory in designated areas.
- Conduct routine inspections of material handling equipment.
- Assist with shipping and receiving operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area according to safety standards.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper Lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and other stock-taking activities.
- Support the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification or demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail in all tasks.
