We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is fundamental to the efficient movement of goods within our facility. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving materials to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. Your tasks will include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential, and adherence to all company safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. We are looking for individuals who are physically fit, possess good coordination, and have a strong work ethic. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Stack and organize materials in designated areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Identify and report potential hazards in the workplace.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Valid forklift certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment and safety procedures.
- Awareness of PPE requirements and proper usage.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
