Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our sophisticated operations in New York City, New York. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory through diligent tracking, auditing, and discrepancy resolution. You will be key in maintaining optimal stock levels, preventing loss, and improving overall warehouse efficiency. A thorough understanding of inventory management systems and procedures is essential. We place a high priority on safety, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires analytical skills and a proactive approach to inventory challenges within the logistics sector.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels, reporting on stock status and identifying potential shortages or overages.
  • Ensure proper organization, labeling, and storage of inventory items.
  • Work with receiving and shipping departments to reconcile inventory movements.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records within the inventory management system (IMS).
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and the correct use of PPE.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to optimize inventory flow and reduce waste.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and MS Office Suite (Excel).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including occasional Lifting of inventory.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain principles.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and the mandatory use of PPE.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
