Our fast-paced logistics center in San Francisco, California, is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all shipping regulations. You will work with various carriers, manage shipping documentation, and ensure that products are packed correctly for transit. This role is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction and the smooth flow of goods. We maintain a strong emphasis on safety, requiring all team members to adhere to strict protocols and wear appropriate PPE. Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and label outgoing shipments according to destination and carrier requirements.
- Process shipping orders using the company's shipping software.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all shipments are properly documented and meet regulatory standards.
- Inspect outgoing goods for quality and accuracy before packaging.
- Pack items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed to move shipments.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and the use of required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse operations as needed to support the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Ability to handle moderate lifting (up to 35 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices in logistics.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication skills.
