Our large distribution center in Chicago, Illinois is seeking a skilled Reach Truck Operator. This position is essential for optimizing our storage capacity and ensuring efficient movement of goods within our high-volume **logistics** operations. You will operate a reach truck to access and retrieve products from high racking systems, manage inventory placement, and support shipping and receiving. A strong emphasis on **safety** and the consistent use of **PPE** are mandatory. This role involves precise operation of equipment and careful **lifting** of materials. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve products from racking systems.
- Place incoming goods into designated storage locations with accuracy.
- Pick orders from various rack levels for outbound shipments.
- Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all **safety** regulations and warehouse procedures.
- Wear all required **PPE** correctly at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with the **logistics** team to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Contribute to a culture of **safety** and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Certified Reach Truck Operator with verifiable experience. Experience operating in narrow aisle environments. Strong understanding of warehouse **logistics** and inventory placement strategies. Demonstrated commitment to **safety** and **PPE** compliance. Ability to operate equipment precisely, including managing **lifting** up to 50 lbs indirectly. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Must be reliable and punctual. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
