We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our logistics team in Miami, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials within our facility. Your efficiency and care in handling materials are crucial for maintaining smooth operations and preventing damage. You will operate various equipment to move inventory, assist with receiving and shipping, and ensure the warehouse is kept clean and orderly. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Organize and stack materials in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with receiving and verifying incoming shipments.
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through careful handling and reporting of discrepancies.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) safely.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, up to 70 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Familiarity with basic logistics and inventory control principles.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
