We are seeking an experienced Reach Truck Operator to join our busy distribution center in Richmond, Virginia. In this critical role, you will utilize your expertise to operate a reach truck for the safe and efficient movement, stacking, and retrieval of inventory within our warehouse. Your precision and attention to detail are paramount in ensuring optimal storage utilization and product accessibility. This position operates in a dynamic logistics environment, demanding a strong focus on safety and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience operating reach trucks and a thorough understanding of warehouse safety protocols. We are committed to maintaining a secure workplace and will provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Strict adherence to safety regulations, including proper equipment handling and safe lifting practices, is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve palletized inventory accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from delivery vehicles.
- Perform daily safety inspections and routine maintenance checks on the reach truck.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including safe lifting techniques.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using scanning equipment and warehouse management systems.
- Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize space utilization and accessibility.
- Inspect products for damage during handling and promptly report any issues.
- Comply with all site-specific safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse supervisors and team members to achieve operational goals.
- Participate actively in inventory cycle counts and full physical inventories.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience operating a reach truck (certification preferred/required).
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Familiarity with operating other types of material handling equipment is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Understanding of inventory control and logistics principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
