We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Sacramento, California. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating stock variances, managing inventory adjustments, and working closely with other warehouse departments to resolve any issues.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system inventory and physical stock.
- Process inventory adjustments and transfers in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor inventory levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure efficient inventory management.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification may be required).
- Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control strategies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
Proficiency in inventory management software and WMS.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Must be able to perform tasks involving significant Lifting and moving of goods, up to 50 lbs.
A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment is paramount.
