We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining organized shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Verify shipment contents against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for proper packaging and labeling.
- Communicate with internal departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Assist with receiving processes as needed.
- Operate office equipment, such as computers and printers, to perform duties.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and general office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and documentation.
- Familiarity with basic Safety practices in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform light Lifting as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
