We are hiring a versatile Shipping & Receiving Associate for our San Jose, California location. This role is fundamental to our supply chain, responsible for managing the accurate and timely processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments. You will ensure that goods are received, inspected, documented, and stored correctly, and that outgoing orders are prepared and dispatched efficiently. A keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to Safety, and the ability to handle various Logistics tasks are essential for success.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments, verifying contents against documentation.
- Accurately document received goods and update inventory systems.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring they are secure and properly labeled.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (if certified).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving areas.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Employ safe Lifting techniques when handling packages and materials.
- Track shipments and manage shipping manifests.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Support the overall Logistics operations of the facility.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar warehouse role is preferred. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of warehouse Safety practices and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Familiarity with warehouse management software and basic computer skills. Understanding of Logistics principles. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be reliable and punctual.
