We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our Charlotte, North Carolina team! As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining the efficient flow of goods and ensuring operational excellence in our logistics hub.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move inventory.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring secure transport of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Verify the accuracy of material counts and labels against inventory records.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment, strictly following all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Support shipping and receiving functions as needed.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and assist with stocktaking.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency in all warehouse activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other industrial machinery; certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and the ability to work safely around moving equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
