Join our team as a Shipping Clerk in Houston, Texas, and play a crucial role in our logistics operations. This position is responsible for accurately preparing, processing, and dispatching all outgoing shipments. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure timely and correct delivery of products to our customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong communication skills. A commitment to safety and efficient workflow is paramount in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
- Accurately label and pack outgoing shipments according to company standards and carrier requirements.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including some manual Lifting.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
- Ensure proper handling procedures are followed to prevent damage during transit.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role is a plus.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and carrier procedures.
- Willingness to assist with tasks involving moderate Lifting.
- Knowledge of required PPE.
