Join our team as a Receiving Clerk in St. Louis, Missouri! This role is vital to our logistics operations, responsible for accurately and efficiently processing incoming shipments. You will inspect goods for damage, verify quantities against purchase orders, and ensure all items are properly documented and stored. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our inventory. The Receiving Clerk will work closely with vendors and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues with incoming stock. Adherence to safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting practices, is paramount. You will operate material handling equipment as needed and maintain a clean and organized receiving area. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fast-paced distribution center and contribute to the seamless flow of goods. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, organized, and have a strong work ethic. The Receiving Clerk plays a key part in our supply chain, ensuring that products are ready for distribution. Responsibilities include: Receiving and unloading all incoming shipments from various carriers. Inspecting deliveries for any damage, shortages, or discrepancies. Verifying received goods against packing slips and purchase orders. Accurately entering receiving data into the inventory management system. Tagging and staging received items for put-away or further processing. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized receiving dock area. Operating forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Communicating effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal departments regarding deliveries. Following all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques. Assisting with inventory counts and stock checks as needed. Contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics network.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Ability to read and understand packing slips and purchase orders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, including proper PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and potentially forklifts (training provided if necessary).
