We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our warehouse operations in Detroit, Michigan. This role is crucial for ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately accounted for, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and committed to maintaining accurate records and upholding safety standards within our logistics facility. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, making your role vital to our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Verify packing slips against actual received goods.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label all incoming inventory appropriately.
- Organize and stage received goods for distribution or put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the warehouse supervisor promptly.
- Follow all required PPE guidelines for the receiving area.
- Be knowledgeable about basic logistics procedures.
- Requires occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and experience with WMS software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Willingness to adhere to all PPE requirements.
- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
