We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics operations in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the movement of goods within our distribution center. This includes loading, unloading, and transferring materials to ensure a seamless workflow. The ideal candidate possesses physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a strong adherence to safety protocols. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to optimize efficiency and maintain inventory accuracy. This is a great opportunity to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas or production lines using appropriate equipment.
- Accurately pick and prepare materials for outgoing shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report any variances.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, strictly following safety guidelines.
- Utilize and maintain appropriate PPE, such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Follow all logistics and shipping procedures.
- Assist with cycle counts and general warehouse organization.
- Ability to handle lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Certification or experience operating forklifts is a significant advantage.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including frequent lifting and standing for long hours.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Team-oriented attitude and good communication abilities.
- Must be willing to wear and maintain required PPE.
- Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics.
