Our growing logistics operation in Salt Lake City, Utah is looking for a dependable Material Handler. In this role, you will be instrumental in moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise within the warehouse. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to ensure the efficient movement of goods. Maintaining a safe and organized work area is a top priority, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use the provided PPE consistently. This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting of items up to 50 pounds. You will assist with loading and unloading trucks, staging materials for production or shipment, and performing inventory checks. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move and stack merchandise to designated storage areas.
- Perform inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Ensure the safe and proper handling of all materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Contribute to team efforts to meet operational goals.
Qualifications:
Must be capable of frequent Lifting and standing for extended periods. Prior experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks is highly desirable. Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures is required. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. Basic math and reading skills are necessary. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment is essential. Understanding of basic logistics principles is a plus.
