We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy warehouse in Houston, Texas. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our logistics hub, involving the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety, and experience operating various types of forklifts. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage areas, and ensuring materials are staged correctly for shipment. Your role is critical in maintaining productivity and ensuring the integrity of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload merchandise from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Stack and stage products in designated locations.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of movements and inventory.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and regulations regarding warehouse operations and logistics.
- Contribute to a safe working environment, reporting any hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrated proficiency.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Proven ability to handle moderate Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with WMS is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics setting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
