We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to become a vital part of our San Antonio, Texas distribution center. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading, transporting goods, and ensuring proper storage. Your contribution is essential to the smooth functioning of our logistics operations, from receiving to shipping. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Organize and stack materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper inventory rotation.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and in accordance with training.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stocktaking activities.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support shipping and receiving functions as directed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is beneficial.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs) and other physical tasks.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic logistics principles.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Good manual dexterity and coordination.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, such as safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
