POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking dedicated and qualified Adjunct Instructors to join our team at Avila University Arizona located in Goodyear, Arizona. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will teach online and hybrid graduate courses within our MSTM-BA; STEM MBA HCA + PM programs.
Responsibilities: • Deliver high-quality online/hybrid instruction using synchronous or asynchronous methods. • Utilize best practices in teaching for online accelerated adult programs. • Employ effective teaching strategies that accommodate diverse student abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural backgrounds. • Perform additional duties related to assigned courses as required. • Serve as a mentor and resource for student teachers, offering guidance on lesson planning, curriculum development, and instructional strategies. • Assist student teachers in navigating challenges encountered during their teaching placements, offering support and solutions as needed. • Foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment where student teachers feel encouraged to reflect on their practice and continuously improve. • Collaborate with university faculty, cooperating teachers, and school administrators to ensure alignment between coursework and practical teaching experiences. • Coordinate logistics related to student teacher placements, including scheduling observations, arranging meetings, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. • Participate in regular meetings and professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in teacher education and supervision. • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance expertise in educational theory, instructional methods, and assessment practices. • Stay informed about current trends and research in teacher education, incorporating relevant knowledge into supervision practices. • Pursue opportunities for professional growth and networking within the field of education. • Maintain accurate records of student teacher observations, evaluations, and progress reports. • Ensure compliance with licensure requirements and accreditation standards related to student teaching placements. • Assist in the coordination of programmatic assessments and evaluations to monitor the effectiveness of the student teaching program.
Qualifications: • Doctorate (or Master's with significant professional experience) in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. • Minimum 3 years of professional experience applying data analytics in business or organizational contexts. Industry experience in fields such as finance, marketing, supply chain, or healthcare analytics preferred. • Prior teaching or training experience in analytics or related subjects preferred. • Proficiency in Python, R, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and visualization. • Strong understanding of core analytical concepts, including: • Data cleaning and transformation • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) • Statistical modeling (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing) • Communicating insights for business decision-making • Demonstrated ability to teach or apply data storytelling and presentation techniques using tools such as PowerPoint. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Experience with SQL for data extraction and Tableau or Power BI for visualization preferred. • Familiarity with working on real-world business datasets (e.g., sales, customer behavior, operations) preferred.
