Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Principal Systems Administrator-Helpdesk Sys Admin (25-571) to join our team of skilled, diverse professionals. Located at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is critical to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options. Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It is a key operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, monitor the battle collectively, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges at all flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both globally and regionally to boost performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate current and future missile defense system capabilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Help Desk System Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs. This position involves providing helpdesk support to C2BMC Global customers by troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical issues across Linux and Windows platforms. Essential Functions:
Configuring and managing Linux and Windows operating systems, including: Implementing operating system improvements to enhance reliability and performance Installing software Applying and enforcing security policies through Windows Group Policy and automation tools such as: Ansible and PowerShell Managing and supporting virtual machines within a complex, hyperconverged infrastructure Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be consideration as an alternative to a degree Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, CISSP, CASP, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the eligibility to be cleared at SCI Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs Experience with system administration on Windows Server and Linux operating systems Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues through phone, IM/Chat, and other collaborative methods Familiarity with a scripting language like PowerShell, Bash, or Python, and/or automation tools such as Ansible Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with using a help desk ticketing system, such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Atlassian JIRA, to document work details and track information for future reference Ability to develop and follow documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOP), for complex technical solutions and procedures using enterprise tools such as Atlassian Confluence Experience supporting users in an enterprise system, showcasing your ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and deliver effective solutions Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules Previous experience with a Hyperconverged on-premises cloud platform like Nutanix or VMware What We Can Offer You:
