Culinary Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team and contribute to the success of our kitchen operations.

The Sous Chef will serve as a leader in ensuring that culinary and operating standards are met, upholding the highest quality standards of menu preparation, cooking techniques, and product specifications. In the absence of the Executive Chef, this individual will be responsible for leading the kitchen team through service, showcasing strong leadership skills and expertise.

This key role requires close collaboration with the Executive Chef, Chef De Cuisine, and kitchen staff to ensure food standards are consistently met, including executing menu items according to recipes, plate, and product specifications, managing kitchen sanitation regulations, and maintaining high-quality food presentation.

• Lead kitchen operations during service hours, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine to develop menus, plan events, and implement new ideas.
• Maintain the highest level of food safety, adhering to sanitation regulations and best practices.
• Supervise and motivate the kitchen team, providing coaching and training to enhance performance and productivity.
• Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring optimal efficiency and minimizing waste.
• Support recruitment and talent development initiatives, identifying and hiring top culinary talent.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high-volume restaurant kitchens.
• Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent education preferred.
• New York City Food Protection Certificate (Food Handler's) required.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of profit and loss statements, financial management, and human resources.
