We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our Kansas City, Missouri logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. A strong emphasis is placed on safety; you must possess a thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures, adhere to all company policies, and consistently use the required PPE. The ability to perform tasks involving significant lifting and physical dexterity is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport goods to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and store materials properly, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations and policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Participate in team lifts when required, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
- Support overall logistics operations to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Valid forklift certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
