Seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our advanced logistics center in Seattle, Washington. In this critical role, you will manage the movement and organization of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring a seamless flow from receiving to dispatch. Your responsibilities will include operating various material handling equipment and maintaining efficient inventory levels. We are committed to providing a safe and productive work environment, offering thorough training and mandating the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Your efficiency and dedication are paramount to our operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations, optimizing space utilization.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, shipping docks, and storage zones.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper working order and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Follow all logistics and warehouse procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet operational demands.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and performing repetitive motions.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and logistics operations.
- Commitment to using PPE and following all safety guidelines.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills.
