Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for efficient logistics? Our Portland, Oregon facility is looking for a Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of our products. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing, documenting, and coordinating the shipment of goods to our customers. This includes verifying order details, selecting appropriate packaging, generating shipping labels, and arranging transportation. You'll work closely with carriers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. A strong understanding of shipping procedures, inventory management, and compliance with logistics regulations is essential. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate shipping records and ensuring all outgoing items are properly accounted for. This position requires the ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting up to 30 lbs, and a commitment to upholding high safety standards, including the use of necessary PPE. - Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure secure packing.
- Print shipping labels and affix them to packages.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Ensure compliance with all logistics and shipping regulations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with receiving and inventory tasks as needed.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform light lifting, up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of shipping documentation and procedures.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and PPE usage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
