We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all shipments are received accurately, inspected for damage, and processed efficiently. Your role is fundamental to the integrity of our inventory and the smooth functioning of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills. You will work closely with suppliers and internal departments to maintain accurate records and uphold our commitment to quality and safety. This position requires the ability to handle physical tasks and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies upon arrival.
- Verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage received items for put-away.
- Communicate any receiving discrepancies or issues to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with shipping preparations as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes.
- Must be able to wear and use required PPE.
- Commitment to workplace safety is essential.
