Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our logistics operations in Chicago, Illinois. In this critical role, you will manage the receiving dock, ensuring all incoming shipments are accurately processed and documented. Your responsibilities will include unloading materials, inspecting for damage, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and entering data into our inventory system. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success. You will play a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the seamless flow of goods through our warehouse. Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
  • Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or overages.
  • Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Accurately record receiving data into the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Tag and label inventory as required.
  • Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors and vendors.
  • Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with other warehouse functions as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficient Lifting capabilities and safe handling practices.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with WMS or other inventory tracking software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
