We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in the heart of New York City, New York. This role is essential for managing the outbound flow of goods, ensuring all shipments are accurately documented, processed, and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping labels, and maintaining shipping records. The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. Your role ensures our products reach their destinations efficiently and correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify order details against shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate and organized shipping records and filing systems.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE within the warehouse environment.
- Assist in resolving any shipping-related issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics administrative role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common office applications (e.g., MS Office).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Understanding of shipping processes, logistics, and carrier requirements.
- Ability to perform basic lifting tasks as needed, up to 25 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certifications are a plus.
