We are hiring experienced Reach Truck Operators for our advanced distribution center in Portland, Oregon. This critical role involves operating specialized equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in our warehouse. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of palletized goods, contributing directly to the smooth flow of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of safe operation, excellent spatial awareness, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will be required to navigate narrow aisles at height, requiring precision and steady hands. Key responsibilities include accurately retrieving and storing inventory, conducting daily equipment checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This position demands physical fitness, as it involves mounting and dismounting the equipment frequently and occasionally handling smaller items. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a reach truck to move, load, unload, and stack palletized materials.
- Accurately retrieve and place inventory in designated racking locations.
- Perform pre-operation checks on the reach truck and report any issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through system updates.
- Organize warehouse racking and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification as needed.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and procedures.
- Wear required PPE at all times while operating equipment.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve operational goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid certification and proven experience operating a reach truck.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to operate machinery at heights and in narrow aisles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
- Physical ability to mount and dismount equipment and perform occasional light lifting.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety regulations and use of PPE.
