We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our busy warehouse in San Diego, California. In this vital role, you will manage the inbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment they arrive. Your responsibilities will include unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately documenting all received items. This position is crucial for maintaining our inventory integrity and supporting our logistics operations. A strong commitment to safety is essential; you will be required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines, including those related to safe Lifting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will play a key part in ensuring our warehouse is stocked correctly and efficiently. We value accuracy, reliability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks safely and efficiently.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect items for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately record all incoming inventory into the warehouse management system.
- Tag and stage received goods for put-away or processing.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding inbound shipments.
- Support overall logistics and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving or inventory control preferred.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Knowledge of safe material handling techniques.
- Commitment to safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding of logistics workflows is beneficial.
