Are you a reliable and energetic individual looking for a dynamic role in the Logistics industry? We are hiring a Material Handler for our facility in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement of materials within the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensuring materials are stored in their designated locations. You will be trained on various pieces of equipment and will need to demonstrate proficiency and adherence to all Safety regulations. This position requires physical stamina, as it involves significant manual handling, including frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Proper use of PPE , such as safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots, is mandatory at all times. You will work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of goods. A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment before use.
- Ensure accurate staging of goods for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety procedures and guidelines, including the mandated use of PPE .
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and Logistics .
- Commitment to workplace Safety .
- Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
- Team player with good communication skills.
