Join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana as a Shipping Clerk! This role is critical for the smooth operation of our distribution center, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will manage shipping documentation, coordinate with carriers, and oversee the preparation of packages for dispatch. Responsibilities:
- Generate and affix accurate shipping labels and documentation.
- Double-check shipment details against customer orders.
- Arrange for carrier pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide tracking information.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all shipping transactions.
- Ensure packages are correctly packed and labeled for transit.
- Liaise with sales, warehouse, and customer service teams on shipping matters.
- Uphold shipping regulations and company policies.
- Strictly follow all safety procedures and utilize required PPE.
- Operate shipping-related equipment, including label printers and scanners.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role preferred.
- Proficiency with common shipping software and carrier websites.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Capability to handle occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Dedication to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE correctly.
This position requires a high level of accuracy in processing logistics documentation. Safety is a top priority, and you will be trained on all relevant safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the consistent use of PPE. Your role is integral to our overall logistics success.
