Our logistics facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is looking for a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator. This critical role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be responsible for ensuring timely loading and unloading of trucks, maintaining an organized warehouse, and contributing to the overall smooth operation of our logistics network. Safety is paramount, and adherence to all operating procedures and the use of mandated PPE is expected. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport goods to and from different areas of the warehouse, including storage and shipping bays.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Stack and arrange inventory in designated areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Follow all Safety guidelines, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work environment.
- Ensure all handled materials are secured to prevent damage or accidents.
Requirements:
- Certified Forklift Operator with verifiable experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Capacity for moderate Lifting, up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and logistics operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on Safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to wear and use all required PPE, such as safety shoes and vests.
- Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
