We are looking for a motivated Picker/Packer to join our distribution center in Portland, Oregon. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves according to customer orders and efficiently preparing them for shipment. Your attention to detail will ensure order accuracy, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. You will work with picking technologies, such as RF scanners, and be proficient in packaging techniques to ensure products arrive safely. This position requires physical stamina, speed, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Understanding and adhering to all safety regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE, is paramount. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic logistics team.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from inventory using an order list or RF scanner.
- Verify product codes, quantities, and quality of items picked.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and work area.
- Assist in receiving and stocking duties as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on picked and packed orders.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret picking lists and product codes accurately.
- Proficiency with RF scanning equipment is a plus.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with logistics and warehouse safety standards, including the importance of PPE.
