Are you detail-oriented and organized? We are looking for a Receiving Clerk to join our Columbus, Ohio warehouse team! In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and proper processing. This position is fundamental to our logistics and supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks safely and efficiently.
- Inspect all incoming shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately document all received goods, including quantity, product type, and condition.
- Verify received items against order documentation and system records.
- Assign received goods to appropriate storage locations within the warehouse.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, ensuring safe operation and proper PPE usage.
- Communicate any receiving issues, such as damaged goods or incorrect quantities, to supervisors and relevant departments immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Assist with inventory control processes as needed.
- Support other warehouse functions during peak periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using scanners and basic computer systems for data entry.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
