*Full-Time | Afternoon/Evening & Weekend Shifts | On-Call Rotation *
The *Medina County Juvenile Detention Center (MCJDC)* is looking for a compassionate *Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)* to join our healthcare team in a secure juvenile facility. In this role, you will provide essential medical care to youth in custody, helping to ensure their well-being and supporting their growth.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Perform medical assessments and physicals for newly admitted residents
* Administer prescription medications and monitor resident responses
* Maintain detailed medication records and manage/update individual medical charts and documentation
* Screen and triage health complaints; refer for physician or emergency care as needed
* Support care plans for chronic and acute conditions in coordination with the facility physician
* Participate in an on-call rotation with the Supervisor Registered Nurse to provide consultations, evaluations, and emergency response
* Educate staff on resident health needs and hygiene practices
*Qualifications:*
* *Current Ohio LPN license* (Required)
* *Valid Ohio driver’s license* (Required)
* Strong communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills
* Ability to work independently and handle high-stress situations professionally.
* Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform physically active duties
*Schedule:*
* Afternoon/evening shifts and weekends
* On-call as assigned (includes telephone consults and occasional in-person response)

* Secure juvenile detention facility
* Regular interaction with residents and medical/administrative staff
* Exposure to both indoor/outdoor conditions
* Exposure to potentially aggressive behavior

This position is an *unclassified, at-will* appointment under Ohio Revised Code and serves at the pleasure of the Superintendent. Background checks are required.

Pay: $24.00 per hour
