Director Nursing, Magnet/Professional Governance at Providence Health and Services summary: The Director of Nursing, Magnet/Professional Governance, leads and oversees nursing programs related to the Magnet status and professional governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering strategic initiatives to improve patient care. This role involves coaching nursing leaders, managing change, collaborating across disciplines, and implementing process improvements within a healthcare setting. The position requires strong leadership, data analysis, communication skills, and experience with healthcare regulatory bodies like The Joint Commission and CMS. As the Director of Nursing, Magnet and Professional Governance, you will assume responsibility for oversight and outcomes of Magnet Program, Professional Governance, and Float Pool. and Professional Governance. Responsibilities include coaching/mentoring Profession Governance Group Chairs, policy oversight, and magnet documentation (including mid-cycle reports).Assist clinicians and managers in planning and sustaining change effectively. Forge partnerships with managers and disciplines to achieve desired outcomes. Maintain a balance between stewardship, patient care experience, and quality. Ensure adherence to TJC, Magnet, and regulatory standards. Implement initiatives for enhanced patient care delivery and process improvement. Must have strong process improvement, data analysis, and writing skills. Advocacy and Representation: Advocate for excellence in patient care and represent nursing on various committees. Oversee recruitment and development of nurse leaders, accountable for staff satisfaction. Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Master’s Degree completed or in progress in applied clinical field. DNP, PhD, DNSc, or ND preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Nursing at supervisory or managerial level, with project management and process improvement experience. Must have strong data analysis, reporting and writing skills. Regulatory Expertise: Experience with Joint Commission, CMS, patient safety, and compliance initiatives. Strong financial acumen, cultural transformation experience, ability to manage union dynamics. Strong coaching and mentoring skills. Magnet designated facility leadership experience preferred. Interpersonal Excellence: Strong collaboration and engagement skills, capable of building exceptional teams and communicating and negotiating effectively.
