Job Description: As a dedicated culinary professional, you will be responsible for preparing food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards. You will ensure quality food service is provided at all times by following established policies and procedures.
- You will prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
- You will serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. You will taste all prepared food items.
- You will use established ticket collection procedures during service. You are responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
- You will clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. You will store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
- You will keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. You will ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.
- You will operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
- You will assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
- You will assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
- You will report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- You will attend in-service and safety meetings.
- You will maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
- You will perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- You will perform other duties as assigned.
- You will ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
- You have a personal commitment to your own safety and that of others.
- You abide by all company policies and procedures including but not limited to:
- The use of medium-weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
- The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
- The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
